In a telephone interview with our correspondent, Ezindu who is still receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital said he has been getting threats from unknown persons accusing him of being behind the media reports which have greeted the incident.

Ezindu demanded his safety, the safety of his family members and his colleagues who he said went on air immediately after the incident, stressing that the demand had become necessary because of the manner Inyama’s boys are threatening him.

The journalist said that the safety request covers the stadium and within and outside Umuahia as Inyama should be held responsible for anthing that happens to him.

When contacted, Inyama stated that he has settled with Ezindu. However  the latter denied having seen his assailant since the day of the incident. “let it be on record that I have seen Inyama or not collected a dime from him.”

Recall that the journalist was allegedly assaulted by Inyama, over excuses that he has been under reporting the activities of the Umuahia based club.

Eyewitness accounts alleged that Inyama hit the head of the sports presenter on the wall after asking him to walk out of the hotel lobby for under- reporting Abia Warriors’ activities.

“ Chief Inyama has been complaining that Hyacient Ezindu has not been reporting Abia Warriors the way he should have done on BCA Radio. On that fateful day we thought he was joking but he hit Ezindu’s head against the wall and ask him  to leave the hotel. All the journalists and other officials of thye club were begging him but he refused. He only stopped when Ezindu was persuaded to leave the hotel,” one of the journalists told 247ureports.com
