Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said that his planned address to the U.S. Congress on Iran’s nuclear programme was not intended as a sign of disrespect to President Barack Obama.
Netanyahu said this when he addressed the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, Washington DC, a think tank
Reports say the speech has caused a public rift between the two leaders.

Netanyahu pointed to the strong alliance between the U.S. and Israel and explained that it would not be in Israel’s interests for the alliance to become a partisan issue in the U.S.
