A socio- political group in Abia state, One-On-One Initiative Association (OOIA) has accused the member representing Bende federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnenna Ukeje of non performance in her representation of the constituency.
President of the group, Mr. Ekenna Ndukwu, said Ukeje has under-represented the constituency for the past eight years and nothing to show for it despite the huge constituency funds mapped for the area.
He added that none of the communities in the constituency have portable drinking water while most of them lack good roads, electricity and other social amenities.
Lamenting the situation, Ndukwu further alleged that all efforts made by elders and people of the constituency to make the lawmaker render account of her stewardship over the years have always proved unsuccessful.
He told 247ureports.com that Ukeje’s neglect of her constituents led to angry youths attacking her and her supporters at Itumbauzo community while she went on a campaign for a third term.
247ureports.com gathered that the group has instituted a court action against Ukeje at the Federal High Court, Umuahia, to force her return all the monies made available by the Federal Government for constituency projects in Bende Federal Constituency.
The group also wants the court to compel the lawmaker to render a comprehensive account of her stewardship including projects she attracted or embarked upon by her in almost eight years period she has represented the constituency at the House of Representatives.
