Rev.Timothy Ajibola, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun chapter, on Saturday urged Nigerians to extend the message of love at valentine to their neighbours to promote peaceful co-existence in the country.

Ajibola told 247ureports.com in Abeokuta that the present challenges facing the country could be addressed if Nigerians showed love to one another.

He also enjoined Nigerians to show love to their neighbours without conditions as emphasised by the word of God.

“The Christian perspective of love which has no boundaries is what the church wants Nigerians to demonstrate.

“It is not just love to your neighbour who is next to your house, a neighbour who is of your tribe or one who is from your place or church, or by a boyfriend to his girlfriend.

“The love preached by the church on this day is one that can bring about peace in the community, that is what the church is talking about,“he said.

He noted that the love which St. Valentine stood and died for was divine and not physical.

The CAN chairman also urged youths to shun immoral acts and violence as they celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The cleric also advised young people to stay away from alcohol and other illicit drugs, adding that alcohol and drugs could lure them into crime.
