President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was on a campaign tour for his
re-election bid sent cheers to the hearts of the people when he
announced the recapture of Michika Local Government Area from the
hands of the terrorists Boko Haram insurgents.
He made the revelation at the Mahmud Ribadu square Yola (Thursday)
stating that no one in his right senses except a mad man will
encourage insurgents to attack and kill people.
Other areas earlier recaptured from the Boko Haram were Maiha, Mubi
North, Mubi South, Hong and Gombi local government Areas.

of time and Madagali local government will be liberated from the
According to President Goodluck Jonathan, he has had to meet with
world leaders on the issue of Boko Haram and thus promised to
eradicate the insurgents.
On Adamawa State the President expressed his gratitude to them for
their votes in 2011 and hoped they will again do so in 2015.
“I cannot have supported Boko Haram except those who are mad and would
want to destroy their country”, he lamented.
In his welcome speech Governor Bala Nggilari of Adamawa State assured
the President of total support as seen by the turn out of the mammoth
Also in his remark, Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State speaking
on behalf North-east Governors assured the President that insurgent
shall be a thing of the past.
Others who spoke were the campaign co-ordinator to Jonathans
re-election bid, Senator Ahmadu Ali, Jibril Aminu, Hajiya Zainab Maina
and Senate President David Mark among others.
However one man who stole the show was Adamawa state speaker of the
House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri where the
mammoth crowd hailed him to the high heavens.
Our Correspondent reports that when he sounded Nigeria fa, the crowd
chanted sai Goodluck and Adamawa fa, the crowd rented the air with sai
Fintiri and this continued thereafter.
One drama happened when an overzealous security on
horseback thrashed the people until the youths reacted back with
chairs thrown on them (police).
Pleas by the master of ceremony went unheeded for them to take it easy.
