Death toll from the twin explosion in Yobe commercial town of Potiskum has risen to 10, hospital sources said on Monday.
Two female suicide bombers suspected to be Boko Haram detonated bomb at a GSM market in Potiskum on Sunday evenning, killing at least eight people including the two bombers, witnesses said.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.A security source also said the two female bombers rode on a tricycle into the market located at the outskirts of the town. “One of the female bombers alighted from the tricycle and headed to the middle of the market to detonate the bomb while the second blast occurred from the tricycle with the second lady,” the source who is not authorised to speak told 247ureport.
A witness, Danladi Amodu said the twin blast occurred at about 4pm and killed no fewer than eight people.
A hospital source however said the death toll rose to ten as at Monday morning, adding that the two bombers, tricycle rider and seven other residents were among the casualties while 46 were injured. “A few of the patients may be released today (Monday),” the source said.
Residents said the town has become target of bomb attacks by Boko Haram in recent time including the Saturday blast at a Police Station in the town that killed two policemen.
