The government decision may be hinged on the recent dismissals of over 400 soldiers base on various offenses ; most of whom were fighting the Boko haram terrorists in the front line states.
Spokesman of the National Information Center, Mr, Mike Omeri said the government is ready to take all possible measures to ” defend the citizens in the face of terrorism “
“There is a need for a ‘troops surge’ in operational areas which may require recalling Nigerian troops from peace keeping missions abroad to enhance the operational capabilities of the Nigerian military.
” this action does not necessarily mean that the Nigerian Military is being depleted by the Boko Haram fighters, but the government will do all it can to protect lives and properties ” Omeri said today in Abuja.
