The leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Enugu State chapter has directed all workers in the state to embark on a two-day fasting and prayers for the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.
Enugu NLC Chairman, Comrade Chukwumaife Nze, disclosed this yesterday during a news briefing at the State Secretariat, situated at No 1 Works Road New Market side GRA,Enugu.
The Labour leader said that the fasting and prayer will commence Wednesday(today) to Thursday, 22 May.
He declared that, “NLC Enugu council joins the good people of our country and the international community in the campaign to ‘bring back our girls, now and alive’.
“We condemn in totality, the spate of insurgency in the country, particularly in the North-East region of the country.
“The abduction of these innocent school girls from Government Secondary School Chibok and shedding of blood under any guise is unacceptable to the council and is indeed barbaric and called for.”
The Union leader quickly charged workers in Enugu state to rise up to the challenge and suplicate fervently for the safe release of the girls abducted by the dreaded Islamic sect,Boko-Haram, on April 14.
