When a sacred institution such as journalism is desecrated on the altar of greed with impunity, truth and fairness to all becomes a mirage.
Compromising facts for fiction with the intent of deliberately spreading vile, misleading orchestrated propaganda to the detriment of the Subject matter depicts a colossal failure in ethics and professionalism on the part of the media, whose conscience can be said to have been bought by the highest bidder.
I was shocked to the marrow when i read a story by Punch with screaming headlines….”GOV DICKSON’S AIDES DEFECT TO APC” and I wondered when, if ever, will media houses stop sensationalizing beer parlour jist!!!!!. what are the names of the alledged special advisers and commissioners and why are their names not included in their malicious report? Those who were expelled and later defected to APC, what are their antecedents? These questions and many more should be at the front burner, playing partisan politics with far more intelligent Nigerians just goes to show how Punch and their likes have lost their purpose for Crumbs falling of their master’s table.
Some persons mentioned in Punch’s report, where earlier expelled from PDP Bayelsa due to their anti party antics,capable of inducing disunity amongst party faithfuls are, Chief Richard Kpodo, Mr. Godwin Sidi, Mr. Timipa Orunemigha, alias Tiway and their supporters, who are accomplices in the looting of Bayelsa State Government funds under the infamous Ex Gov Timipere Sylva who was stoned by Thousands of Bayelsans during his rein of Trepidation.
Punch also claimed that these Urchins have over 2 million supporters in Bayelsa State and I ask myself again, what is the population of Bayelsa State and when did the State maneuver from a PDP strong hold to a fickle Broom parade????. You do the Math.
Punch also wrote that, Special advisers and Commissioners have eloped to APC, which is another blatant lie. Kpodo was quoted to have said, the PDP’s lack of internal democracy and culture of impunity” and that drove them to APC……how can a man who under his watch, encouraged killing and maiming of innocent youths and citizens of Bayelsa State, while he was security adviser under Ex Gov Sylva!!!!!!!, turn around to accuse another of spitting a venom he used callously, without mercy, How????.
If eloping to APC in other to fight President Jonathan just because he supported the wishes and aspirations of the majority of Bayelsans who yearned for a change in a system so corrupt and visionless, then, expect to be on the loosing side once the Armageddon predicted by the APC commences, because Bayelsans are wiser and better informed.
Bayelsa State does not belong to anyone or any group of disgruntled elements who feel it’s either their way or the high way, who while they had the chance to write their names in Gold, choose corruption,illegality, looting, a monomaniacal and repugnant style of rule to the peril of citizens of Bayelsa State, and now they cry wolf!!!!.
The Jerusalem of the Ijaw Nation has since moved on from lack of infrastructure to massive infrastructure development, from maiming and killing to peace and security, from looting and corruption to transparency and decorum, from rumor mongering and pulling down syndrome to bridging the communication gap between Government and it’s citizens with timely and proper dispensing of Government policies and strategies,through the traditional and New media platforms, and I dare say it is a first under Gov Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, who happens to be the Chieftain of the Restoration agenda.
The Mirror which is the ‘Media’ once reveled by Nigerians and citizens the world over has lost its footing and is now a circus for the survival of the fittest, stomach journalism and junk reportage, who in their little minds think they can change the people’s perception with falsehood and irritable jargon, they are in for a big shocker.

In closing, there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him or her it is the right thing to do.
