Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the embattled governor of Kaduna State, Malam Yero will get the Kaduna State assembly to screen his list of 24 commissioners earlier submitted to the lawmakers. Available information indicates that the lawmakers who had been sedated by the coming of the Yero’s administration – through the questionable impeachment of the former speaker of the state assembly – who was believed to be loyal to the assassinated former governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Yakowa.
In the letter submitted by the Gov. Yero to the state assembly – and read by the majority leader of the House, Honorable Umar Yunusa, – stated that the governor had asked the House to kindly expedite action in confirming the nominees.
The list includes a one-time speaker of the House of Assembly,
Honorable Bashir Zubairu, as the nominees from Birnin Gwari Local
Government; former council chairmen Shehu Giant (Kaduna North Local
Government); Dr Thot Joseph Dogo (Jaba); Madami Garba Madami (Chikun)
and Comfort Amwe (Sanga). As well as former commissioners: Everton
Yari (Kajuru); Joshua Uchissa (Lere); David Chatjok (Kachia); and
former member, Federal House of Representatives, Ado Audu (Jema’a).
Others include Abdulrasheed Kakangi (Giwa); Bashir Zangon Aya (Igabi);
Husaini Abdu (Ikara); Ibrahim Ali (Kaduna South); Abdulrahaman Jere
(Kagarko); Isaac Bodam (Kaura); Umar Sani (Kauru); Nasiru Damau
(Kubau); Abdullahi Ahmed (Kudan); Samaila Aliyu (Makarfi); Kasimu
Abubabkar (Sabon Gari); Garba Shehu (Soba); Grace Nyan and Ben Bako
(from Zangon Kataf)
and Abdulsalam Baba-Ahmed from Zaria Local Government Area.
The house has scheduled Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November for
the screening of nominees.
