Soldiers Arrest Mobile Police, Killed 9 Ombatse Militant In Nasarawa

Fresh information reveals that a serving mobile police with the Federal Capital Territory, an Eggon by tribe was apprehended following a gun duel by Eggon resistance army, Ombatse along Akwanga-Keffi highway and nine other members were killed in a clash between army and the notorious cultist at Akwanga Local Government of the state.

The bloody clash was as a result of disagreement over the removal of barricade mounted on the highway at around Alushi a border between Akwanga and Akun Development Area of the state.

According to the information received by 247ureports.com,the army used force to dislodge the barriers mounted at Abuja-Keffi highway causing untold hardship to road users plying the route. But members of militant group attacked the soldiers leading to the exchange of power.

Men of Nigeria army while parading the cultist at Government House Lafia said scores were killed.

Nasarawa state was on fire following a renewed clash in Obi Local Government which escalated to Asaakio,Lafia East Development Area. It reliably gathered that Eggon militant in their multitude burnt houses, using chain to cut down trees. No fewer than 4,000 people were displaced in the renewed ethnic clash in Obi and Assakio respectively.

Sources indicated that the deployment of Information minister, Labaran Maku to oversee the Defense ministry also ignited the mayhem.

The recent mayhem in Obi may not be unconnected to the interception of weapons by Alago militant being imported by Ombatse cultist, leading to the burning of the vehicle conveying sophisticated firearms, Eggon militant on a reprisal burnt down a filling station belonging to Alago man.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura while briefing journalist shortly after his arrival from medical trip expressed dismay over the ugly incident, saying lives and properties of the people are protected.

The Governor stated that the state Government is on top of the situation, “my deputy and top Government functionaries are on ground to brief me on the matter”.
