I heard with very deep shock the sudden death of my cousin-in-law and friend Senator Pius Ewherido on Sunday 30th June, 2013, at the age of 50 after a brief illness. I commiserate with my cousin Mrs Doye Ewherido (nee Bozimo), the entire Ewherido family, the Alaowei Broderick Bozimo family of Ezebri, the Urhobo Nation, the government and people of Delta State and the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on this very painful loss.
It is however comforting that the very cheerful, peaceful and friendly Senator Ewherido died in active service to his Nation, having spent his entire life in the service of God and humanity. He has only kept an inevitable appointment with death as recorded in the Holy Bible.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
