The former governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris – while in office officially awarded a two billion naira [N2,000.000,000] to Friday Sani – for the renovation of schools – through a special account in Skye Bank, Lokoja. Interesting, no schools were renovated.

According to the information made available by a loyalist of the leader of the new terror group and Kogi State lawmaker, Friday Abdul Sani, the Ajana Mopol group – through the assistance of Idris’ financial generosity – has managed to launch a mass recruitment campaign that has successfully enlisted new membership that rivals that of Boko Haram. As gathered, the objective of the new terror group is to sabotage the initiatives of political opponents within the north central region through massive offensive attacks that would inflame the federal government into confusion as done by Boko Haram. The massacre of church goers last year in Kogi State is believed to have been carried out by the group.

Presently, the group is estimated to have a membership of about 250 with an extended membership of over 2000 in the rest of twenty [20] Local Government Councils of Kogi State. It is not clear if the group’s leader, Friday Abdul Sani is connected with any fundamentalist groups but the activities of Ajana Mopol share great resemblance with tactics of some core militant groups in Asia.

The leader of the group, Friday Abdul Sani is said to have managed to sustain the commanding control of the group because of his closeness to some top politicians in the State – particularly the former governor of the state, Ibrahim Idris. A source close to the terrorist leader states “that Friday Abdul Sani’s new pursuit to take over the political leadership of Kogi includes carrying out operations that are considered repressive and inappropriate are established facts”.

Initial police investigation conducted by the police acknowledged that Friday Abdul Sani is an illegal arms dealer. It insinuated that Friday Sani Abdul had been involved in the importation of body armors and fire arms.
