Helping and supporting the needy is the best act of righteousness any human can perform, it is a selfless service, humanitarian in nature and rewarding.

His name is Babatunde Lukman, A 200 Level student of University of Ilorin currently lying at the Renal Unit of University Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) counting his last days on earth due to is illness which had paralyzed both of his kidneys.

Both Kidneys of Babatunde Lukman has been paralyzed and he needs a kidney transplant to be saved. 4 kidney donors are currently waiting to donate their kidney to save a fellow human, but there is financial constrain to cover the operation cost which amount to N3million ($20,000).

While discussing with a friend based in Ilorin, the kwara State capital, I got an information about this dying student of the university of Ilorin who has been lying down on the seek bed for almost 6months.

According to the friend who informed me about the student, he said, when he heard about the incident, he decided to check him out at the University of Ilorin teaching hospital to know how he is doing.

Upon getting to the hospital ward where he is lying, he said, ‘’i saw him from a distance, I couldn’t get close because I am scared.’’ ‘’ I see that this young man is still full of hope, expectations and dreams.’’ He needs you and every well-meaning Nigerians home and abroad. He said.
Information has it that, he has been on dialysis (A mechanised Kidney) twice every week for the last 3 weeks in an effort to hold him till the required amount could be raised.

The Student Union Government (SUG) of his institution, Unilorin had earlier raised about N830, 000.00 among the students out of the required N3million needed for transplant, but since they haven’t raised enough money for the operation, the had to hold him as much as they could.

He is currently on dialysis which costs N80, 000 at every observation. Since this dialysis commenced in last 3 weeks, he has consumed N480, 000 out of the N830, 000 raised by the SUG. If no support is received, it is likely that the remaining N350, 000 would be exhausted on the dialysis after which the young man shall die.

This young man need a kidney transplant to get well, about 4 donors are already waiting, but the cost of the operation required is the N3million which is holding the operation. If the transplant is going to be done to save this young man, we have to get N3million ($20,000.00) and failure to do so would end his life in the next 3 weeks when the 350,000 is exhausted.

Every effort to raise the required fund has not been fruitful so far. Everyone who made promise to support hasn’t done so yet as I am informed and I feel that our fellow brothers and sisters around the would come to the aid of this boy and save him.

On this note, I hereby call on every well-meaning Nigerian home and abroad, as well as friends of Nigeria to help save the life Babatunde Lukman who is currently dying.
