Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the recently jailed house of representative member representing a constituency in Kano – Farouk Lawan was paid a solidarity visit by twenty four [24] members of the Kano State House of Assembly yesterday [Tuesday afternoon]. He was visited at the Kuje prison in Abuja.
Among the list of visitors were 13 lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], 9 lawmakers from the All Nigerian Peoples Party [ANPP], and 2 lawmakers from the Congress for Progressive Change [CPC].
Farouk Lawan was jailed over his role in the bribe saga over the oil subsidy committee [House of representative] investigation committee headed by him. He was alleged to have collected bribes from Femi Otedola in exchange for a soft landing from the House committee charged with investigating the activities of oil importers as per oil subsidy.
While at the Kuje Prison, one of the lawmakers off camera said they “were there to see one of their own“.
The Kano State House of Assembly comprises of 44 lawmakers.
