The Anambra State government [State Ministry of Environment] in collaboration with Rural Community Development Outreach [A Non Governmental Organization] launched the start of over one million tree planting campaign in Nnewi [the ward of the late Ikemba Nnewi] in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The launching was coordinated by the NGO, Rural Community Development Outreach with assistance from the Nnewi North LGA.
The launch of the tree planting campaign coincided with the World Environmental Day – June 5, 2012.
