Oshiomhole has mandate of Edo people, says royal fathers

Traditional rulers from Edo Central have described Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the governor who has the genuine mandate of all Edo people, just as the governor promised to defend every Edo person regardless of how he or she voted in the elections.

The traditional rulers led by the Onojie of Opoji, Zaiki Aidenojie Ehidiame JP, during a congratulatory visit to Comrade Oshiomhole at the Government House in Benin City, said since independence, Edo State witnessed the most transparent elections where thugs were jobless.

“We have come to congratulate the governor over the victory which revealed God’s hand at work. We are also appreciative of the role of the Oba of Benin, who spoke peace and progress during the election,” they noted.

According to the traditional rulers, “we have full confidence in the governor. We are having the governor that has the genuine mandate of the people, you are the governor of all Edo man.”

Governor, Comrade Oshiomhole thanked the traditional rulers for their prayers and support during the electioneering campaign and the election.

“As royal fathers, you have made the point that you do not belong to any political party, but you cannot be neutral. As Adolor of Esanland, you have done me proud as the people voted for their Adolor in every ward,” he noted.

Comrade Oshiomhole said to justify the huge trust reposed in him by the people, “we will fulfill all those promises made on my visit to your domain. It is now time to return to work, I will carry royal fathers along.”

While commending the Oba of Benin for reminding the people that all Edo people trace their origin to Benin, the governor maintained that the government will defend every Edo person regardless of how he or she voted in the elections.

“I am humbled by the outcome of the election, Edo people reminded us we are one and the same and they want a governor that must apply the resources for the development of various parts of our state,” he added.
