Delta State Beyond Oil: New Revolution in Education [Photos]

The State administration of the Delta State government under the leadership of Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan in its effort to move Delta State beyond oil appears to have begun yeilding pragmatic results. The Uduaghan administration had previously pledged to prepare the state for an economy beyond the lure of oil.

In this effort, the state governor has begun erection and broad rehabilitation of existing secondary schools to match standards in the international community.

  1. This is an example of what we call dividends of democracy. The government should move a step futher by diversifying the employment and revenue base of the state away from oil and gas. Delta State is known for rubber plantation and many other solid minerals. It also has good agriculture and aquacultural histories.
