OSOGBO — A viral video circulating across social media platforms has captured a political supporter distributing food items, including rice, to residents in Osun State while campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the state’s governorship election.
In the footage, the woman is seen addressing a crowd of locals while handing out bags of rice.
“My people of Osun State, I told you that Oyebanji is a good man,” she declared in the video. “He sent me to distribute rice to you. Vote for the APC candidate, Asiwaju Oyebanji. He will take care of you and your family.”

The incident has sparked widespread debate across digital platforms, with critics condemning food inducement as a voter-coercion tactic ahead of the polls, while party supporters defend the gesture as a routine welfare distribution to cushion socio-economic hardship.
The Osun governorship contest remains intensely competitive, with political parties actively engaging in grassroots mobilization and voter outreach ahead of election day.
