OSOGBO — International Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has raised the alarm online, alleging that military personnel stationed along transit corridors into Osun State refused his convoy entry into the state capital, Osogbo.
According to posts shared via his social media handles on Saturday, the artist stated that soldiers deployed for election security duties stopped his entourage at a major checkpoint and attempted to turn them back, despite state-wide movement restrictions permitting accredited individuals and voters to access their designated polling stations.
Davido, who is in Osun State to support his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, condemned the incident, describing it as an attempt at political intimidation aimed at restricting key stakeholders ahead of voting procedures across the 30 local government areas.
“Soldiers trying to block me from entering Osun,” the singer posted, adding that his convoy maintained composure and navigated through the checkpoint to reach Osogbo safely.
The military authorities and the Osun State Election Security Taskforce have not issued a formal statement regarding the alleged incident at the time of publication.
