ABEOKUTA, Nigeria — The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has announced the immediate expulsion of three members following allegations of anti-party activities and conduct detrimental to the party’s unity.
The decision was formalized during a meeting of the State Working Committee on Monday, August 24, 2026, following the consideration of a report submitted by an internal investigative panel.
According to an official public notice dated August 25, 2026, issued from the party’s state secretariat at Ijemo Agbadu in Abeokuta and signed by State Publicity Secretary Badejo Oluwatosin Ademola, the expulsion takes effect immediately. The affected members are Alhaji Moruf Olajide from Abeokuta South Local Government, alongside Mrs. Iyabo Bello and Mr. Wasiu Omiyale, both from Ewekoro Local Government.
The party leadership cited gross anti-party activities undermining the overall interest, progress, and cohesion of the organization as the primary justification for the disciplinary action.
Following the ratification, the Ogun state branch declared that the expelled individuals are no longer authorized to act, speak, or represent the party in any official capacity. All local government executives, ward executives, party organs, and affiliated support groups across Ogun State have been directed to cease all official dealings with the three individuals. Reaffirming its commitment to internal discipline and loyalty, the party executive emphasized that compliance with constitutional party guidelines remains mandatory for all members as political activities intensify across the state.
