Dr. Mike Omenugha, a medical expert and elder statesman from Nnobi community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State has lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for considering his wife, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha worthy of the most recent appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the state-owned Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, Igbariam and Uli campuses.
Dr. Omenugha who made his appreciation known during his 70th birthday anniversary and Thanksgiving ceremony for his wife, Prof. Kate on her appointment by Soludo as substantive COOU V-C, described all the Soludo’s appointees into key positions as ’round pegs in round holes’ or square pegs in square holes’.
Omenugha also thanked God for keeping him alive at 70 and prayed for more fruitful years for himself, his family members, friends, well-wishers and all those who sponsored and attended his birthday and his wife’s Thanksgiving ceremonies put together.
Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefoh told newsmen at the ceremony that Soludo appointed Prof. Omenugha based on merit, adding that she surpassed other contestants after careful evaluation.
Immediate past President-General of Nnobi Welfare Organization, NWO, Barr. Dominic Savio Okpala described the Omenugha family as a responsible one and prayed God to continue to bless them.
Hon. Nelson Omenugha, former Senior Special Advicer to Governor Soludo on Youth Empowerment expressed appreciation to the governor for considering his mother suitable for the appointment as a substantive Vice-Chancellor and also prayed God to give his father longer years on earth.
