LAGOS, NIGERIA — Security operatives have arrested Okombo, a prominent political associate of the former Governor of Abia State and current lawmaker, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
The political loyalist was picked up by police officers at his private residence in Lagos and has been immediately transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Headquarters in Abuja.
The Viral Video and Arrest
While security authorities have not released a formal statement detailing the official charges, insiders link the sudden arrest to a controversial video Okombo recently published on social media.
In the viral footage, Okombo narrated the underlying political history of the Kalu political dynasty. He explicitly alleged that the current Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, was originally introduced into Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s political circle through Mascot Uzor Kalu.
Move to the Federal Capital
Following his apprehension in Lagos, tactical teams immediately initiated his cross-state transfer to the federal capital for high-level interrogation.
Legal representatives and associates of the detained politician are currently scrambling to establish direct contact with him at the Abuja facility. Neither the Force Public Relations Officer nor the media team representing the Deputy Speaker has issued an official statement regarding the development.
