Anambra APC Expels 30 Members Over Litigations Against Party

Anambra state chapter of the All Progressives Congress( APC) has expelled 30 members of the party for filing a legal actions against the party .

 

The 30 members include some National Assembly aspirants of the party and going by their expulsion they may not be qualified to participate in the party’s primary elections.

 

Disclosing this shortly after the meeting of the State Executive Committee SEC of the party the state Publicity Secretary Dr Sir Valentine Iyiegbu hold reporters that it was online with section 21 sub section 5 of the Constitution of the party .

 

“The party discussed those that took the party to Court and many of them are contesting for the House of Representatives tickets of the party ”

“The matter comes up tomorrow and the SEC states that what the party Constitution stipulated would be followed and that it is outright expulsion from the party .under Article 21 sub 5 ”

 

“The SEC actually ratified their expulsion because they did not exhaust all the avenues of party to resolve their problems”

 

He noted that the only reprieve for the expelled members is for them to withdraw the matters from the Court.

 

“It is only when the matters are withdrawn from the Court that the party can consider listening to them” he said.

“In the case of those that are contesting for the tickets of the Federal House of Representatives, the eleven positions have aspirants but in the case of the Senate we have the three positions being contested for and the Screening Committees were here to perform their duties ” he noted .

 

The party also ratified the appointment of a five man Primary Elections Committee headed by Sir Izuchukwu Okeke who is the State Organizing Secretary of the party .
