PORT HARCOURT — Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday hosted international music sensation Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, at the Government House in Port Harcourt to deliberate on strategic community development initiatives.
The Grammy Award-winning artiste was accompanied to the executive meeting by his father, Samuel Ogulu, and prominent talent manager Soso Soberekon. The visit served as a high-level consultative session aimed at bridging the gap between global entertainment influence and grassroots developmental projects within the state.
During the exchange, Governor Fubara expressed his administration’s willingness to partner with illustrious indigenes of the state who are committed to giving back to their home communities. Discussions reportedly centered on youth empowerment, infrastructure, and the enhancement of the creative economy as a viable tool for regional growth.
Burna Boy’s presence at the seat of power follows his recent engagements with regional stakeholders, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), where he has consistently advocated for improved social amenities in Ahoada West and surrounding areas.
While the specific financial commitments of the partnership remain confidential, the Governor’s office indicated that the administration remains open to private-sector-led interventions that align with the state’s urban renewal and rural development master plan.
