Kobi Primary School at 113 Honours Late Prime Minister, Bauchi Emir, Others

In a colourful celebration of its one and thirty years anniversary, the Kobi Primary School Old Pupils Association (KPSOPA) has today honoured some it’s disguised personalities from old boys of the school who exelted in their respective career in the country.
Those who were honored are the late prime minister, Sir, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwan Sulaiman Adamu, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, former Comptroller General Hameed Ali Rtd and former INEC chairman Professor Muhamood Yakubu.
Others were Governor Bala Mohammed, Senator Shehu Umar Buba, Dr Bala Wunti, Ambassador Aishatu Laraba Abdullahi and Bauchi local government chairman, Hon. Baba Maji Abubakar among other sons and daughters of the school.
Speaking at the event, held at the school’s premises in Bauchi, the chairman of the occasion retired Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali said the significant of the event was to see how the old boys would come together and contribute to the overall of the school to greatest highest with a view to overcome it’s pressing challenges.
Rtd Col Ali who was an old boys used the medium and urged the alumni to work closely with the state government towards contributing to the development of  the school
Retired Col. Ali who was the custom controller general during late President Mohammad Buhari also advocated the creation of funds among alumni, noting that collective support would not only enhance individual wellbeing but also boost the capacity of alumni to give back meaningfully to their alma mater.
In his welcome address, the Interim Chairman of the Association Alhaji Muhammad Dauda described the reunion as more than a commemorative gathering but an opportunity to reconnect, renew shared purpose, and reinforce the legacies to improve the school
Also speaking, the Galadiman Bauchi Surveyor Saidu Ibrahim stressed the importance of unity and active participation in the national alumni body of the school.
In her speech, the guest speaker at the occasion, Ambassador Hajiya Aisha Laraba commended members of the association for their consistent involvement in the school’s development to include building of classrooms and ICT equipment donations as evidence of their commitment.
She lamented over inadequate security within the school premises, and further appealed for the engagement of parents especially in the areas of discipline, dressing, lateness as well as security of the school against hoodlums and theft.
Highlight at the occasion was the launched of appeal fund and presentation of Award to members, inspection of classes and school environment as well as group photographs.
