The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on what it described as a historic and decisive victory in the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election, reaffirming the people’s confidence in his leadership and the party’s vision for a progressive Anambra.
The party, in a statement issued through its National Publicity Secretary, Maazị Ejimofor Opara, described the re-election as a unanimous endorsement of performance and a validation of Governor Soludo’s reforms and people-centered governance over the past four years. With over 70 percent of the total votes cast and clear victories in almost every ward across the state, APGA viewed the outcome as a resounding vote of confidence from Ndi Anambra and a strong reaffirmation of the state’s political identity.
According to the party, the result of the poll represented more than an electoral triumph, and also symbolized the people’s satisfaction with Soludo’s strides in infrastructure renewal, education reform, youth empowerment, and economic transformation. It also reaffirmed APGA’s status as the true voice of the Igbo nation and the party most trusted by the people to sustain development and protect their political interests.
The APGA Spokesman acknowledged the role of key stakeholders in ensuring the credibility of the exercise. The party commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what it called a transparent and orderly poll, while also appreciating the professionalism displayed by security agencies that maintained peace throughout the process.
The party also expressed gratitude to the electorate for their courage, patience, and determination in ensuring that democracy prevailed, further describing the voters as the real victors of the election.
APGA also recognized the role of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in providing an atmosphere of national peace and ensuring the exercise was free of interference.
In a moment of reflection, the party mourned the loss of Mr. Francis Onyeka Ibe, Councillor of Owerre-Ezukala and leader of Orumba South Legislative Council, who was tragically killed by gunmen shortly after casting his vote. The party expressed sorrow over his death and called on security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.
Looking ahead, APGA called on all political parties and candidates who participated in the election to embrace Governor Soludo’s outstretched hand of reconciliation and work collectively toward the peace and progress of the state. It stressed that while elections may end in contest, governance demands cooperation and shared purpose among all stakeholders.
The party reaffirmed its firm support for the governor’s administration and assured that it would continue to champion the ideals of justice, inclusiveness, and good governance that have defined the APGA philosophy. It urged Ndi Anambra to remain steadfast and united as the state enters another phase of accelerated development under Soludo’s leadership.
The party further emphasized that Soludo’s victory marks not just a continuation of leadership but the beginning of a renewed mandate for deeper reforms, stronger institutions, and broader economic empowerment. It pledged to continue providing visionary leadership anchored on the principle of Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya, ensuring that no citizen is left behind in the march toward a prosperous and livable Anambra.
Opara concluded with a reaffirmation of the party’s loyalty to the state and the nation, describing Soludo’s re-election as a victory for democracy, progress, and the collective aspirations of Ndi Anambra.
