The Anambra State Police Command has recorded yet another major breakthrough in its sustained fight against crime, as operatives attached to Nnobi Division under Ogidi Area Command, in collaboration with the Awka-Etiti Vigilante Group, arrested a notorious motorcycle robbery suspect and two receivers of stolen motorcycles in the early hours of Monday, October 13, 2025.

The arrest, which took place at Iruowelle Village, Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government Area, followed a coordinated intelligence-led operation that also led to the recovery of four Kymco 125 motorcycles suspected to have been stolen.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the breakthrough came after a report was lodged at the Nnobi Police Division by one of the victims, who narrated that on October 11, 2025, while returning home with his wife on his black Kata Pen motorcycle, they were suddenly ambushed and dispossessed of the bike by two young men around Awka-Etiti town.

The swift operation also resulted in the recovery of four stolen motorcycles from the suspects.
