The Igala community in Anambra state has warned against a planned festival being organized by those they called faceless people.
This is coming as some people have been mobilizing some Igala natives in a bid towards celebrating the cultural festival which the body has stated that they are not part of the function.
According to the Onu of Igala community in Anambra state Alhaji Mohammed Sani Ali , the Igala Day celebration is slated for October next month adding that the Igala community is not part of the planned festival fixed for the month of September.
“The attention of the Igala community in Anambra state have been drawn to a certain preparation by some faceless people claiming to be representing the community to celebrate the Igala cultural festival”
“Against this backdrop we the Igala community in Anambra state wish to state that we are not part of that planned festival and we urge our brothers and sisters from Igala not to have anything to do with the said function ”
“We also wish to inform the Anambra state government that our Igala festival is fixed for the month of October and the actual date would be communicated to the general public ”
“Consequently we wish to urge the general public to disregard the planned September celebration because the rightful person saddled with the responsibility of organizing the function and inviting people is the Onu of Igala ” they stated
