The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc MNIPS PhD, has expressed profound appreciation to stakeholders, community leaders, and partners for their unwavering support in enhancing security infrastructures and boosting operational efficiency of the Police across the state.
CP Orutugu, in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, acknowledged the recent facelift and support initiatives extended to several divisions and formations, including the installation of solar-powered lights and renovations that have improved Police visibility and response capacity.
According to the statement, the formations that benefited from these interventions included the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Awkuzu, Amichi Division, Neni Division, Umuchu Division, 33 Division, Dunukofia Division, Oraifite Division, B Division, Ihiala, Amanuke, Awka, and Onitsha, as well as many other divisions across the state.
The Police Boss emphasized that the task of maintaining safety and peace in Anambra is a collective responsibility that demands sustained collaboration between the Police and the public. He further disclosed that arrangements are underway for the official commissioning of the renovated facilities and solar installations, which, he said, will further cement police-community relations and strengthen security architecture in the state.
In the spirit of the season, CP Orutugu also felicitated with Muslim faithful in Anambra State on the celebration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. He also urged them to uphold the values of peace, unity, and brotherhood that the season represents, while reassuring Ndi Anambra of the Command’s determination to consolidate the gains already recorded in security and ensure a safer environment for all.
The Police Commissioner further called on residents to continue to support the Police through cooperation, timely intelligence sharing, and sustained partnership in order to collectively build and maintain peace and security across the state.
