In a landmark event signaling Bauchi State’s commitment to harnessing its natural resource potential, the Ministry of Natural Resources Development, led by Honourable Commissioner Mohammed Mai-Wada Bello (Barristan Kaura Bauchi), officially inaugurated the Governing Board of the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy (BOGAA), Alkaleri.
The ceremony, held at the temporary conference hall of the academy within ATAP, Bauchi, drew prominent figures including Alhaji Bala Mohammed Gidado (Rtd.), Sarkin Alkaleri; Senator Adamu Mohammed Bulkachuwa; leading academicians; and community stakeholders. Attendees lauded the state government’s foresight in establishing BOGAA as a center of excellence for oil and gas education, research, and human capital development.
Delivering the keynote address, Honourable Commissioner Bello emphasized the strategic role of the newly inaugurated Governing Board in steering the academy toward global standards. He outlined the board’s mandate to provide policy direction, institutional oversight, and ensure that BOGAA becomes a catalyst for youth empowerment and technical capacity building in the oil and gas sector.
The Commissioner reiterated the academy’s mission to equip Bauchi’s youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to engage meaningfully in Nigeria’s evolving energy landscape. He described BOGAA as a gateway to opportunity, innovation, and sustainable development.
Members of the Governing Board pledged to uphold the academy’s vision through transparency, innovation, and strategic partnerships. They called for collaboration with both local and international institutions to enhance BOGAA’s training programs and research initiatives.
