As part of efforts to boost his political campaign programmes geared towards his re-election bid, traders in Anambra state, under the umbrella of Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association, ASMATA on Saturday unianimously endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo with a cash gift of N10 million.
The symbol of the N10 million gift was jointly presented to Soludo by the President-General of ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna and Patron of the Association, Chief Jude Nwankwo at the endorsement rally which took place at Chuba Ikpeazu Township Stadium, Onitsha.
The duo of Anuna and Nwankwo who spoke on behalf of the traders, said they were endorsing Soludo for a second term because he performed so creditably within this first tenure in office.
They therefore assured him that all the traders in the state would give him massive votes during the November 8 governorship election in the state to ensure that he returned to finish all the quality projects he initiated within his first tenure.
Responding, Soludo commended the traders for the honour done to him and for the confidence reposed on him by endorsing him for a second term in office and urged them to ensure that APGA won in all the polling boots in all the 326 wards in the state.
Describing the traders as partners in progress, Soludo assured them that his second tenure in office would witness more massive infrastructural development in the state which would in turn benefit the traders in the long run.
He advised the traders to shun those who are not qualified academically in the first place to contest a governorship election but who are currently in the race apparently to secure a political appointment at the end of the exercise.
