The Action People Party PPA this Sunday nominated an Ex- Banker Chief Eusebius Zonyelum as the candidate the party for the August 16th Anambra South Senatorial District by election.
Loading ...The primary had two aspirants Zonyelum and Mr Uchenna Okoye but Okoye later stepped down for Zonyelum which led to his being returned unopposed.
The election which was decided by affirmation following the motion moved by the state organizing Secretary and secretary of the Primary Election Committee Mr Ikedi Ikegwuonu and seconded by Mrs Chidiogu Ezeakunne from Aguata local government area.
Speaking earlier the Anambra state Chairman of the Action People’s Party APP Chief Chijioke Okeke explained that the party is not going into the race for mere attendance but to win .
“This is Action People’s Party APP and our party is poised to take over the realms of power in Anambra South Senatorial District and the brand of representation that this party is going to offer you all is one that shall continue to interface with the people of the Senatorial District”
“Our party”s logo is the elephant which is indeed a pathfinder among Animals and this is what our candidate is going to do at the red chambers ” he said.
Also speaking the National Organizing Secretary of the APP Bar Obed Agu who represented the National Chairman Bar Uche Nnamdi congratulated the winner of the Primary Election urging him to see his victory as a call to duty.
“To our Senatorial District candidate we congratulate you but you must see this as a challenge to serve our people in your capacity as Lawmaker when elected by August this year”
“I also urge us all to continue the mobilization of supporters and ensure that out party emerges victorious ” he said.
Delivering his acceptance speech Chief Eusebius Zonyelum thanked the party members for electing him promising to provide adequate representation to the people of Anambra South Senatorial District.
“This is a call to serve and I wish to make this promise that I shall continue and surpass the achievements of our late brother Sen Ifeanyi Ubah through sponsoring of bills and motions for the good of Anambra South Senatorial District ” he promised.
