Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, wife of Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has flagged off the distribution of educational materials and tablets to all the secondary schools in the state, to enhance teaching and learning culture.
The materials were procured by the Universal Basic Education Board, UBEB, Abuja in collaboration with Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Awka for distribution to all the secondary schools in the state.
Performing the flag off ceremony at the ASUBEB Secretariat in Awka, Mrs. Soludo notes that as part state government’s commitment towards total eradication of illiteracy in the state, the present Soludo administration has since introduced free and compulsory education from primary to secondary school levels in the state.
She therefore noted that apart from the free and compulsory education, government has committed so much resources to the educational sector to ensure that all the children from the state are properly educated in such a way they could compete favourably with their counterparts all over the world.
Earlier in her remarks, the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Mrs. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi had explained that the idea of collaborating with UBEB to procure the materials waa to ensure that even the children of the poor are properly equipped to concentrate ìn their academic pursuit without hindrance.
Nwadinobi therefore commended the first lady, Mrs. Soludo and her husband for their intimate love for a proper education among our children and urged them not to relent to ensure at least basic education for all.
