It was a spectacular gathering that drew political titans, traditional authorities, business elites, and progressive minds from across the Anambra North Senatorial Zone, as a new political wave officially swept through Aguleri, in Anambra East Local Government Area, following the formal inauguration of a “Political Likeminds” group at the Ugwunadegbe Primary School Field.
This historic convergence of well-meaning stakeholders, held under the powerful slogan “Ka A Kpaa Akpaa”, marks what many have described as the dawn of a new era for Anambra North — one that prioritizes shared ideologies over partisan affiliations, and progress over politics.
The Political Likeminds group, ably led by the visionary Barr. Francis Okeke (popularly known as Aliwa), is a non-partisan coalition of individuals from different political parties united by common values and a collective vision for sustainable development. For over three years, Barr. Okeke has meticulously nurtured the group from a series of idea-driven meetings into what has now become a formidable political movement poised to reshape the political landscape of the region.
Draped in symbolic all-white attires and matching caps, members of the group made an unmistakable statement of unity, purity of purpose, and readiness to challenge the status quo. Their coordinated appearance and enthusiastic chants of “Great! Great!! Ka A Kpaa Akpaa!!!” re-echoed the strength of their bond and the urgency of their mission.
“This is more than just a political gathering,” said Barr. Francis Okeke in his address. “It is a movement of ideas, of conscience, and of vision. We may come from different parties, but we are bound by one ideology — progress. We believe Anambra North deserves more than recycled politics and empty promises. Today, we begin a journey to restore value-based leadership.”
The high-octane event witnessed the presence of royal fathers, business magnates, and political figures who all converged to endorse the group’s message of unity, integrity, and people-oriented governance. Distinguished guests at the event included His Royal Majesty Igwe (Dr.) Michael Chukwuneme Idigo (Ezeudo Aguleri), H.R.M. Igwe Sir Ben Emeka (Okebo II of Umueri), and H.R.M. Igwe Lawrence Nwofia (Ochiagha Eziagulu Otu).
Also in attendance were top industry players and community leaders such as Chief Celestine Tagbo, Barr. Rolex Iloakasia, and Chief Amechi Iloakasia, among others, who expressed optimism about the group’s emergence and affirmed their support for its objectives.
Many observers described the inauguration as not just timely, but strategic, given the prevailing need for fresh political ideas and credible platforms that can bridge partisan divides for the greater good of the people.
“We have watched the Political Likeminds grow quietly, but today’s outing has confirmed the readiness of this group to lead change,” said Chief Tagbo, adding that “It’s refreshing to see young, dynamic leaders like Barr. Okeke take the mantle. If sustained, this initiative will spark a realignment that may define the political future of Anambra North.”
Participants and attendees were also thrilled by the group’s core philosophy — inclusiveness, honesty, and strategic collaboration — which many believe are crucial ingredients missing in the present-day political climate.
Reports have it that the atmosphere was electric throughout the event, filled with chants of unity and hope, while traditional blessings from the royal fathers sealed the group’s efforts with ancestral endorsement.
It was further gathered that, with the grand inauguration, Political Likeminds has firmly announced its arrival on the political scene, and is already being tipped by analysts as a potential game-changer ahead of the next electoral cycle in the zone.
