Youths of Awka, the capital city of Anambra State, under the umbrella of Okolo N’eche Obodo Awka (Awka Youth Council), have arrested a man accused of drinking his children’s blood after giving them mark.
The arrest which occured on Wednesday, May 21, reportedly happened at Umukwa village, Awka, where the suspect was said to be residing with his children.
Although, the full identity of the suspect us yet to be ascertained, he is said to be popularly known as Fire Fire, and hails from Nkanu in Enugu State.
While the details of the crime is still sketchy, the Awka Youths Council, through a statement issued on Wednesday, alleged that the suspected was said to be giving his children marks on the head and licking the blood that gushes out from them, for diabolical purposes.
“On the morning of May 21, 2025, the Okolo N’eche Obodo Awka (Awka Youth Council) apprehended a male suspect accused of cutting his children’s heads and consuming their blood,” the statement partly read.
This was also corroborated by a video currently trending on social media, showing the apprehended suspect and some of his children whom he had already given the mark and licked their blood.
Also shown in the video were assorted charms recovered from the suspect, with his lips stained with blood. He was also compelled to untie all the people he had tied in some of recovered charms.
Reacting to the incident in the video, the Chairman of Okolo N’eche Obodo Awka, Comrade Ikechukwu Philip Ezenwa (Ogwali na Ogwali) totally condemned the act, emphasizing that such evil diabolism and criminal idolatry were what Governor Chukwuma Soludo is strongly fighting against in the state but which many people misunderstood to be a fight against culture.
While commending the youths for the work well-done, the Awka Youths Council Chairman, said the suspect would be handed over the Operation Udo Ga-Achị, for proper investigations and further necessary actions.
The suspect, was, however, overhead in the video pleading for forgiveness, claiming that he was doing those things to help himself.
