Rivers Crisis: Security Firm Withdraws Services From Oil Field Community

The ongoing crisis in Rivers State between the people of Rivers State and the Federal Government in Abuja Federal Capital Territory appears to be worsening.

This is as a security firm,  Royal Fouche Services Limited, declared it will no longer continue to provide security along the Kalahari/Emuoha road starting 12noon March 14, 2025.

The security company indicated through a press statement released on March 13, 2025 and signed by B. E. Daniel that it received credible intelligence of a planned attack against its personnel and the people of the community – with the aim to discredit the security firm.

The press statement which is reproduced below cited a secret audio recording where an impending attack was discussed.

The security indicated it will pull all its personnel and presence from the community until further notice.

The FCT minister, Nyesom Wike had thrown a backhanded challenge to the Ijaw communities in the Niger Delta that they were toothless Bulldogs. He made the comment at a media parley he had with the press in Abuja. He was responding to the the threat by the Ijaw communities over the perceived to impeachment by pro-wike/Tinubu lawmakers.
