Hon. Midala Usman Balami, a prominent political leader and Lawmaker recently paid a courtesy visit to Barr. Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication. The visit, described by Hon. Midala as a gesture of mutual respect, aimed at fostering unity and collaboration for the development of their constituency.
In an exclusive statement to journalists, Hon. Midala shared that the visit was intended to officially congratulate Barr. Bwala on his recent appointment and to discuss potential areas for collaboration in the interest of their community. Both leaders emphasized the importance of working together to achieve common goals.
“The visit was a normal and cordial exchange, rooted in brotherhood and mutual respect,” said Hon. Midala. “Our collective commitment to serve the people and promote the well-being of our community is the foundation of this interaction. As we continue to push for the establishment of an
Psychotherapeutic and Counseling Research Institute in our region, it is essential that we unite all stakeholders from Borno State. Only through collaboration among local and national leaders can we ensure the success of this important project.”
Hon. Midala also highlighted the significance of another priority initiative—the establishment of the Psychotherapeutic and Counseling Research Institute (PCRI Nigeria), which aims to address the country’s growing mental health challenges. He noted that the development of the institute would require significant legislative efforts and support across political divides.
“The establishment of the Psychotherapeutic and Counseling Research Institute is a critical step in tackling the mental health challenges facing the nation. I am actively working to gather the necessary support from both the executive and legislative branches of government to move this project forward,” Hon. Midala explained.
In addition, Hon. Midala addressed rumors circulating about his political affiliation. Speculation had suggested that his visit to Barr. Bwala signified a possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, Hon. Midala firmly denied these claims, calling them completely false.
“There is absolutely no truth to the rumors that my visit to Barr. Daniel Bwala indicates my defection to APC,” he asserted. “My primary focus remains on delivering the dividends of democracy to my constituents. I continue to seek collaboration across party lines to ensure the betterment of our people.”
The visit highlights the importance of unity and cooperation in advancing developmental projects, particularly in Borno State. Both leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the interests of their people remain central to their political efforts.
