In Anambra, Police Reportedly Gun Down Only Son Over N100

A trigger-happy police officer, identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman has reportedly gunned down a youth in Anambra State over N100 disagreement.

According to reports, the incident happened on Saturday at a police checkpoint in Anambra East Local Government Area where the officer was attached.

Reports further have it that the victim had a little disagreement related to N100 with the officers at the checkpoint, while as the argument was raging, the police inspector immediately pulled his gun and fired the victim.

This was corroborated by a video reportedly shared by an eyewitness from Aguleri, showing the corpse of the victim lying in the pool of his blood.

A source from the area also noted that the killed victim was the only son of his parents.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the Command was aware of the incident, adding that the officer has been identified and disarmed.

He further noted that the officer has been detained, while investigation has been launched into the incident

“The Police officer involved has been identified as Inspector Sani Suleiman.

“He has been disarmed and detained for further investigations and internal disciplinarian procedures,” the Police Spokesman said.
