The Rivers State Police has debunked viral reports that the RSIEC office in Port Harcourt has been sealed by its men.

PPRO of the state police Grace Iringe-Koko told our PH Correspondent that no such act was carried out by the police.

She explained “our men are only there to forestall any break down of law and order in that area as a result of the ongoing Oct 1st protest in the state. We are only doing our job to maintain peace and order, besides it’s a public holiday and no activity is going on in that office, so there’s nothing like stopping activities there”.

Our correspondent who visited the area saw some armored trucks and police personnel around the premises of the RSIEC.

This may not be connected to the upcoming October 5th local government elections which has already been complicated with counter upon counter court orders.
