Imo: How Governor Uzodinma’s Former Aide, Ezeanochie Resold People’s Shops In Orlu
The numerous sins of the embattled former President of Imo State Market Traders Association (ISAMATA),Mr Emmanuel Ezeanochie are gradually being unveiled, to the consternation of many.
The latest in the series, is the alleged fraudulent way he unilaterally appropriated some of the shops that were previously allocated to people and resold them. This is said to be causing serious problem in different quarters.
Information available to our news desk indicates that Ezeanochie who is described by many as a reckless and lawless person invaded the Orlu shopping plaza where he allegedly unlocked most of the shops that had already been duly allocated to people and started selling them to individuals, most of who did not apply for nor paid for the shops initially.
One of the victims who pleaded anonymity, said, Ezeanochie sold the shops for between #2m and #3m each with the assistance of one of his agents in Orlu.
The victim who tendered the documents with which he secured the shop in question, said, when he visited Ezeanochie in his office with the documents with which he secured the shop, the ISAMATA boss flared up and almost beat him up.
“At that point, I left his office and decided to seek redress in court”. The victim also disclosed that the embattled former ISAMATA boss used some high profile individuals who he appeased with shops to cover his track. The source further disclosed that what Ezeanochie did at Orlu shopping plaza, was also replicated in other parts of the state where he exuded a larger than life image.
“He used his agents to harass and intimidate shop owners who forcefully disposed of their shops and dared them to do their worst.
He commended the Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma for relieving Ezeanochie of his position pointing out that it was a right step towards sanitizing the system and bringing succor to the victims who could not do much while he was still in charge.
