Armed Robbers Shoot Imo Man On The Jaw

Mr. Celestine Chidi Okolie went to his Total Filing station, Owerri Ebeiri in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State on August 31, 2024 hale and hearty.

He conducted his business transactions seamlessly until he wanted to close for the day at about 9:00pm. He had switched off his generator when three armed men swooped on the station.

Buoyed by the force of arms, the robbers commanded all to lie face down. They robbed Okolie and others of the day’s sales proceeds and telephone handsets.

The robbers bolted after the robbery but later returned after few minutes. According to Okolie ‘s sibling, Emmanuel, one of the robber demand the second cell phone of Okolie which he also handed over to the robber. But the robber was not satisfied yet. He reached for trigger of his gun and shot at Okolie. The bullet missed its target

He pulled the trigger again.this time hitting the bull’s eye. The bullet pierced through Okolie’s jaw.

Okolie has been in the hospital since the fateful day.

The local vigilance group in the area is said to have arrested three suspects in connection with the robbery attack.

Okolie’s lawyer Peter Ogbuatu confirmed that the matter had been reported to the Police Area Command in Orlu.
