Coming off the flag off of tree planting exercise by the Soludo administration on Friday July 20, 2024 at Fegge Onitsha, Anambra State, accolades have continued to follow the Soludo administration for the policy – distribution of over 1million economic trees to communities across Anambra State.
One of the prominent personalities who praised the Governor for the flag off is Chief Benjamin Obi “Igwe APGA”.
He praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his courage to see through the “noise and clouds” to understand what the people of Anambra State truly needs and desire. “For years, many Governors played lip service to the issue of planting economic trees but never did anything practical about it. Today, we are seeing it. He is doing something about it. Planting of N1million economic trees across Anambra is truly a frontline solution for multiple problems facing our State. Anambra State is known for the menace of soil erosion.” Chief Benjamin Obi continued to add that he “is truly pleased with this initiative by the Governor. If other Governors across the country would emulate what Governor Soludo is doing in Anambra State, Nigeria would not be in the economic and developmental quagmire it presently finds herself in.”
Beyond the recent flag off of economic trees, Chief Benjamin Obi pointed to other efforts of the Soludo administration. He indicated he has travelled widely across the various geopolitical regions in Nigeria and has observed with keen interest the various development projects. “None of them nears what Soludo is presently doing in Anambra State”. He expressed gratitude for the speed with which the Soludo administration has turned Anambra State to a construction site. “Some of the roads that were abandoned by previous government due to the complicated factors surrounding it – have been faced straight up by the Soludo administration. An example is the road from Amawbia through Agulu to Uga – that he is presently dualizing from single lane to double lane with pedestrian walkway – is a wonderment. All the previous administrations ignored that road. But today he is doing it with speed and undiluted focus”.
Chief Benjamin Obi is a top member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] who has been a major player in the governance of Anambra State ensuring APGA retained the gubernatorial seat and other elected offices across the state and beyond. He applauds the Governor on the political front over his efforts to growth the party – APGA. “We are happy with him. He understands us and we understand him. With him, we will be able to perform much better in the next elections”.
