The Imo State President, Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mr Richard Eze would be facing legal battle by aggrieved stakeholders over allegation of Embezzlement Of funds made for deceased and retired members of NULGE in Imo.
Eze, who was also accused of constituting an illegitimate caretaker leadership in the twenty seven Local Government Councils in Imo State which according to them is strange to the Constitution of the Union.
According to them, the State President’s decision to inaugurate a purported caretaker executives was an organized plot to divert welfare allocation funds made for members across the 27 LGAs in the State.
They also accused president Eze of conspiring with the caretaker group who they described as his loyalists, to embezzle Thirty Six Million Naira, a three month allocation funds from the government, made to take care of the welfare of it’s members across the twenty seven LG in Imo State.
It was further revealed that Mr Eze led administration of NULGE in Imo State, since four years have not paid retired and deceased members their constitutional entitlements.
“Eze has destroyed the Union here in Imo, for over four years, our senior citizens and dead members have been paid entitlements.
“It may interest you to know that the entitlement is their constitutional right because they have been contributing money for it while on active service.
“Even the check-off Dues made for the members, he has diverted it for some months without conducting LG chapter election.
“He has been frustrating every effort to conduct election so that he would continue to Embezzle our funds, caretaker leadership is very strange to NULGE Constitution. President Richard Eze shall meet us in the Court as soon as we conclude our consultations with relevant authorities.” They alleged.
Another member who did not want her name on print told our correspondent that president Eze is currently bribing some stakeholders to elongate his tenure of office for the second time to enable him embezzle more funds.
The source further Revealed that Eze has relocated his wife and children to London where they currently reside.
“As I speak, Richard Eze has relocated the his wife who is also a staff in one of the LGs in Imo. The wife is now a ghost worker for some months now.
“This is for the world to know how corrupt president is. His wife is eating salaries from London as a staff and by next year August when he will retire he will join the wife there, whereas he refused to pay the deceased members families their constitutional entitlements.
“Recall that Govenor Hope Uzodimma led administration had stopped salaries of our members who he tagged ghost workers, our Chairman was used against his members.
“Now can someone tell the governor that our president’s wife is a ghost worker for over 8 months she is living in London and receiving salaries without attending to work.
“We will definitely meet in the Court” she said.
However, President Eze when contacted, he confirmed that his wife is currently in London but for a temporary purpose.
He also denied other allegations against him.
