Nigeria House Of Representatives committee Chairman on public petitions, who is the member representing Orlu, Oru East And Orsu Federal Constituency, Rt. Honourable Jerry Alagbaoso has officially resigned his membership with the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Alagbaoso’s resignation from the party was contained in a letter addressed to his Ihitenansa PDP Ward chairman dated 14th, April 2023, sighted by our correspondent in owerri.
The letter partly read; “I write to formally inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ihitenansa ward with immediate effect.
“The decision was borne out of the need to refocus my energy to other issues very dear to my heart, that of my family and Constituents.
“I wish to thank you and other members of the party for all your support within the period I had been in the party. i.e. from 1998-2023.
“May God bless you all, thanks, sincerely yours
Rt. Honourable. Jerry Alagbaoso”
The famous Lawmaker, also confirmed his recent membership with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to our correspondent on telephone conversation
On tuesday evening.
He said; yes, I left PDP officially on 14th, April 2023. It is just today that I made my intention to join APC official.”
It could be recalled that a few weeks ago, two PDP national lawmakers and one from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state had also dumped their parties for APC to support governor Hope Uzodinma re-election bid.
This recent developments have been regarded as a huge political tsunami and a setback for an opposition party (PDP) which shall be going into governorship poll with an incumbent Govenor Hope Uzodinma.
