Appeal Court dismisses APGA’s motion, awards N2m cost to Ukaegbu

The Court of Appeal, Owerri Division,Imo state, has dismissed the motion brought by the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) urging the Court to review her judgment affirming Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu, as the substantive state chairman of the party in Abia State.

In suit NO: CA/OW136/22, All Progressive Grand Alliance(Appellant/Applicant) and Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu and another, as (respondents), the Court dismissed the application for review of the judgment and awarded a N2 million cost against APGA in favour of Ukaegbu.

The Court of Appeal had on April 7, 2022, delivered judgment affirming Ukaegbu as the substantive chairman of the party in Abia state.

Judicial sources hinted that rather than appeal against the verdict at the Supreme court, the party filed an application asking the Court to review the judgment.

An Abia state High court had in September 2018, declared Ukaegbu as the substantive state chairman of APGA in Abia state.

Dissatisfied by the verdict, APGA appealed to the Court of Appeal,Owerri, which affirmed the judgment of the state High Court.
