The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) today in Bauch, has commenced another set of training for 130 women on vocational skills acquisition training in the state.
Director General of the Agency, Malam Nuhu Fipko who was represented by the State Coordinator, Lawal Ali Yaya said that the initiative is among various vocational skills acquisition program of the Agency, aimed at empowering women to become self-reliant as well as given a sense of belongings.
He explained that the beneficiaries will under go a five days intensive training, while N25,000 as start up capital has been reserved for each of the participants to enhance their businesses.
He further disclosed that the beneficiaries were carefully selected through the Agency gateway register book from interested persons and is cut across the three senatorial districts in 20 LGA of the State.
Also speaking, NDE Director Small Scale Enterprises (SSE), Mr Subday David Apakasa, represented by Senior Development Officer, Mrs Justina Akoji, said the training consists of different skills of beauty make up, tight and dry, perfume, beat making, make of Kampala, as well as organic products through natural health and spices.
Corroborating, the HOD, Moses Sule, North East Zonal Office, also represented by Suleiman Ahmed, said the Agency is very passionate about women empowerment scheme, hence, the need more support from well to do individuals, MDA’s and international donors in that regard.
In his remarks, the Emir of Bauchi Dr Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, who was representing by Zubairu Aliyu, Wakilin Office, commended NDE for its concerns about the plights of women, called on the parents to inculcate discipline and training of their wards.
