Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has tasked the media professionals in the State to always ensure and abide by the ethics of their profession by ensuring accuracy, fairness and balancing when ever they’re reporting.
The Governor who was ably represented at the occassion by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado made the charged during the Book Lunch of the former NUJ National Secretary, Mr Shuaibu Usman Leman, Monday in Bauchi.
Mohammed, noted that most journalists of today’s instead of to abide by the ethics of the profession, but rather go by reporting fake and complicated informations to create confusion in the public.
According to the governor, said that the journalists who are the mirrow of the society, as well as the watch dog of the society, oath to abundant their responsibilities for personal interest or otherwise.
He however, called on the journalists to now that Nigerian its in trial period, therefore, the need for every journalists to ensure accurate and balancing in their reportage before sending for publications to avoid causing problems.
The governor, extended his gratitude to the celebrants and the thanked the organisers for holding such occasion in the State, and pledged for his administration support.
