Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has Bauchi Governor Inaugurated committee to implement government white paper on the report of administrative committee in to land disputes between Herders and farmers caused by land use abuse and illegal allocation in local government areas across the state .
The 45 man committee headed by the retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Alhaji Mohammed Sani Usman, Members of the committee involved all stake holders in land administration and security agencies.
Governor Bala Inaugurated the committee today in Bauchi, He said the committee is to implement the government positions contained in the white paper on the report of the administrative committee of inquiry on to land disputes.
He said the committee is to identify those responsible for the abuse allocation both state and local government levels and recommends appropriate penalties, and to report any matter incidental to their assignments and to submit their report within three weeks from.the date of their inauguration.
Governor Bala said the appointment of the committee is testimony of the sicererity and commitment of the State Government to sanitize land use and allocation in the state.
He said anyone found to be involved in illegal land deal.would in curr the full wrath of the law, no matter how highly placed or connected he is.
He said the administrative committee report established that clashes between Herders and farmers result from. The activities of some traditional rulers state and local government land officers who use their privilege position to illegally de- reserve and allocate same for Agricultural purposes, depriving Herders of where to graze their animals.
Governor said the officials have been illegally turning cattle routes in to farms which blocks the passage of Herders and their animals.
He said these actions are recipe for Herders farmers clashes with the attendant loss of lives and properties.
He warned traditional rulers at all levels and state and local government officials to desist from land use abuse and allocation.
On his part Chairman of the Committee Mohammed Sani thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in them to serve the state .
He pledged to justify the confidence reposed on them and solicited for the prayers and support of the people of the state in order to succeed.
