Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has assented to a law providing for the establishment of medical and emergency rescue services to enhance healthcare delivery in the state.
Speaking after he appended his signature on the document at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House Makurdi, Governor Ortom said the law would provide opportunities for humanitarian workers and other Non Governmental Organisations, NGOs to help offer health assistance to the people.
He said the law would be implemented to the latter for the benefit of Benue people.
The Governor while expressing appreciation to the State Assembly for speedy passage of bills, acknowledged the cordial working relationship that exists between the legislature and the executive.
Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Titus Uba, while presenting the bill to the Governor for assent, expressed the readiness of the Assembly to make laws that would impact positively on people of the state.
